Position Gl Pattern Code Maintenance
The Position GL Pattern Code screen allows you enter pattern for matching General Ledger numbers to be used in the Leave Application Screen. GL Patterns provide a way for you to more tightly control what GL's can be entered by defining valid patterns. For example, entering a pattern of ???9999? will force digits 6 through 9 to be 9999. Up to 20 GL patterns can be defined for each position. If any of the 20 patterns for a given position match, the GL will pass the pattern checking and the GL entry will be considered as valid.
Position
Enter a valid position for which you want to enter the GL account number patterns. Leave blank and press <Enter> to exit.
General Ledger Pattern
A valid GL pattern is comprised of numbers (0 - 9) and question marks ( ? ). Question marks allow the entry of anything. Numbers 0-9 will require the specified number(s) be entered in the corresponding position.
The pattern ??????9999??? requires that 9999 be entered in positions 6 through 9.
The pattern 01?????????? requires that 01 be entered as the first 2 digits of the GL.
If any of the GL pattern for this position match the entered GL, the GL is considered as valid.
