Subs/Casual Preference Search Index Rebuild

The Search Index Rebuild process rebuilds the six search indexes based on the information stored in the Sub/Casual preference file. These six indexes are: subject, level, location type, location area, unqualified subject and unqualified level. This process should be run periodically to ensure that no system or power failures have corrupted the indexes.

Important

This process will now be run with each software update that is released. It will no longer be required to request an Index Rebuild.

This process creates brand new indexes with the extension .TMP, and then if everything was successful, it will rename the new index files back .DAT. The rename cannot happen if these index files are open by another process. This includes the Automated Dispatch Voice Server. This ADS process needs to be temporarily shut down while the index rebuild runs.

There are no prompts for this process to continue and it will run in batch mode.
