Search Index Menu

The Search Index Menu gives you access to the modules that control the reporting and rebuilding of the four search indexes. The purpose of the indexes is to speed up the dispatch search routine. By using the subject, level, location type, and area indexes, the entire list of active substitutes and casuals does not have to be searched through. Instead, only a fraction of the entire list must be searched.

The system automatically maintains, builds, maintains, and uses these indexes. Each time you add or change an employee's preferences, the employee's indexes are re-built. The reports on this menu let you view the contents of these indexes. If, when you view these indexes, you feel that they are not quite up to date or accurate, you can run the Index Rebuild Process to rebuild all the indexes. The only way the indexes could become corrupted would be through some type of system or power failure. Periodic running of the Rebuild Process is recommended.
