Warehouse - Stock File Delete
The Stock File Delete program provides you with the ability to physically remove stock items from the system. By default it will attempt to hard delete the item(s) specified. To accomplish this, it must first check all related files to see if the stock item(s) is active. This requires a great deal of processing therefore this process must be run in batch. The file created by this process will contain a detailed account of the action taken on the stock number specified.
If there is a positive balance on hand for any warehouse in the current year you will Not be able to delete the item(s). If the balance on hand is zero but the stock item is still referenced by other files such as the Purchase Order File, Tender File, or Purchase Requisition File, the stock item will be flagged as soft deleted This means that the item(s) will remain on the system but no new activity can be processed for this item(s). If the balance on hand is zero and the stock item is not referenced in any other files the item will be physically hard deleted and removed from the stock file.
