Provincial Tax Parameters

The ProvincialTaxParameters (Canadian payrolls only) allows you to define the values used in the formula for calculation of income tax deductions.  The Provincial Tax Parameters are global records accessed by all payrolls so changes to these entries will affect all payrolls.  Provincial Tax Parameters are entered per tax option 1 or 2 (1 is the norm) based on an effective date.  Multiple Provincial Tax Parameters by effective dates allows payrolls under different calendar years to be run at the same.  The pay period ending date from the payroll calendar per payroll is used to determine which Provincial Tax Parameters are active per payroll run. The selected effective date and tax parameters are displayed in the log of the Payroll Processing run.

This screen is mandatory for all Canadian payrolls.

NOTE: Field FederalTaxCalculationOption [1/2] Must be set correctly for the type of formula being used. The normal or default formula is option 1.

The value of FieldProvince/State in the Users Specific Parameters Profile Must be set correctly for your province.

The values can be found in the latest version of the booklet Payroll Deductions Formulas for Computer Programs. The following documentation is based on the T4127(E) 101st Edition Effective January 1, 2015.
