The Bank Cycle Code is used to allow control over when a storage bank will be calculated. A storage bank cycle code only needs to be used when you want to prevent a storage bank from being calculated in some periods or on increment storage banks to control in which pay period the increment will take place. A blank storage bank cycle code means that bank is active for all possible pay periods. The storage bank cycle code of '*' allows a means of suspending a storage bank.
Once a storage bank cycle has been defined and attached to a specific storage bank table, that storage bank table will only be calculated when that storage bank cycle has been entered into the payroll calendar for the pay period being run.
Employees have an override bank cycle code per storage bank. The system will look first at the employee's individual bank cycle code and only if that bank cycle field is blank will the system look at the storage bank cycle code on the actual storage bank table. This method allows you to control individual employee's storage banks as well as complete storage bank tables.
