OMtool Fax Report

The OMtool Fax Report lets you view the status of the faxes that ADS has tried to send to each location in the district. You can report on a single location or all locations. Note that this report only works if you are using the VMS version of OMTOOL.

The Automated Dispatch fax program attempts to fax reports to the schools in alphabetical order by location name. The time of day the reports are to be faxed is controlled by the profile option in the Automated Dispatch Master Profile.

Prompt 15 ( * Automatic Daily Fax/E-Mail To Schools) allows you to specify the time of the day at which the reports will be queued for faxing. If a specific time is entered in this field (ex.. 07:30), then the reports for all locations will be queued at 07:30 am in alphabetical order by location name in preparation for faxing. If a number of minutes is entered (ex. -30) then thirty minutes before the location's start time, their report will be queued for faxing.

Date Range

  • Enter the range of dates to report. All absences and/or dispatches that occur during the date range entered will be reported. This includes absences and/or dispatches that commence before/continue after the date range specified.

Location

  • Enter the location to report on. Press If you wish to report on all locations, leave the field blank and press enter. There are three messages that may appear on the report:

    • Converted Ok - This means that a report was successfully created from the information in the Automated Dispatch system and placed in the queue to be faxed to the school.

    • Busy - This means that the school's fax machine was busy. Automated Dispatch attempts to resend the fax several minutes later. Automated Dispatch will attempt to fax the report to the school up to five times. Each time a BUSY signal is received, the ATTEMPTS column is reduced by one. Ex: after the first busy signal, the ATTEMPTS column will read '4/5' and after the second, the column will read '3/5' Automated Dispatch will stop attempting to send the fax when the count reaches zero.

    • Sent OK - This means that the report was successfully faxed to the school.
