Insights - Menu Links Power Tiles

The Menu Links Power Tiles provide a way to categorize menu links, enhancing the functionality of the Quick Links Power Tile.

With Quick Links all of the quick linked menu items display in a single scrollable list, but you may want to categorize or group menu items for better visibility and easier access, for example a group of menu links for ‘Manage Staff’ or ‘Timesheet Administration’. Users with the Menu Links permission will have access to 5 Power Tiles that can be customized.

Steps to modify and use the Menu Links tile:

1. If Menu Links have not been previously defined the tile will be blank

2. Click the Edit pencil located at the top right corner of the tile

3. Modify the Display Name to reflect the category/group for the Power Tile

4. Click the Menu dropdown

5. Search through the list of menus and select the one that you want to work with

6. Once a menu is selected, the available sub-menus will display in the Available box

7. Click to highlight the menu link(s) to move to the Selected box (use ctrl+click to select multiple rows at one time)

8. Click the right arrow button to move values from the Available box to the Selected box

9. To change the order that the links display, click on a page link in the Selected box and then click the Up or Down arrow button to reorder the list

10. Repeat steps 4-9 to add more menu links

11. Once complete , click Save and the popup widow will close and the Menu Links tile will be updated

12. To remove menu links, follow the same steps above but select values in the Selected box and click the left arrow button to move back to Available. Click Save to save changes and return to the Insights landing page.

13. Once you are returned to the landing page, you can select a link from Menu Links Power Tile and you will be redirected to the selected page.

Additional Notes

All menu links display in the Available box.  If you select and save a menu link to a page that you do not have permission to access, you will receive a permission denied message when you try to navigate to that page from the Power Tile.
