Employee Hiring or Birthdate Report

This report will generate a report based on the employee's hire date or the employee's birth date. The Employee's Hiring report may be used to generate a list of employees that have been hired for a given date range. The Employees Birth date report may be used to determine employee's ages, or report on employees for specific age ranges.

This report includes an option to generate an export file, ######.CSV, where ###### is the job number. The export file is generated where the logical SRB$OPSWRK is defined. All fields within the export file have any extra spaces removed from the front and back of the fields and all fields are separated by a comma.

The Hire date export file includes the following fields:

  • Payroll ID code

  • Employee number

  • Employee name

  • SIN/SSN

  • Current Hire Date

  • Original Hire Date

  • Employee's Status

The Birthdate export file includes the following fields:

  • Payroll ID code

  • Employee number

  • Employee name

  • SIN/SSN

  • Birth Date

  • Employee's Age

  • Employee's Status

Report on Hiring or Birthdates

  • Enter 'H' to produce a report based on the employee's current hire date.

  • Enter 'B' to produce a report based on the employee birth date.

When reporting on hiring date, the following prompts appear:

Enter the Starting Date Range

  • Enter a valid date for no beginning date limit. This date entered indicates that employees with hire dates prior to the start date are not to be selected.

Enter the Ending Date Range

  • Enter a valid date for no maximum end date. The date entered indicates that employees with a hire date later than the ending date are not to be selected.

When reporting on Birth Date the following prompts appear:

Enter Age Range to Report or All Ages

  • Enter 'all' to report all employees' ages.

  • Enter an age range. You are prompted for two ages to form an age range. Only employees whose age falls within this range specified will be reported. The ending age may be greater/equal to the starting age. The ending age may not be less than the starting age. The age range can be used to report employees within a specific age range (e.g., you can report on all employees between the ages of 01 to 18).

Enter the As of Age Date

  • Enter a valid date to use the current date. Employee's age will be calculated based on the date entered.

Report Employees Terminated / On Leave / Both

Sort by Employee Number or Employee Name

  • Enter 'E' to produce the report in employee number order.

  • Enter 'N' to produce the report in employee name order.

Include Generation of CSV Export File

  • Enter 'N' to omit the generation of the export file.

  • Enter 'Y' to include the generation of the export file.

The report listing includes:

  • Employee number and employee name

  • Employee Social Insurance Number or Social Security Number

  • Employee Hire Date and Original Hire Date - for hire date report

  • Employee Birth date - for birth date report

  • Employee's age as of the date specified - for birth date report

  • Employee's status Terminated or On Leave is indicated when applicable.
