The Payroll Location Additions module allows the definition of the physical location of all your payroll accounts. Entry of a payroll into the location profile allows a new payroll to be created.
The Human Resources system also requires all payrolls to be setup in this profile. This profile is a global profile used by several systems other than Payroll, and it should be secured using the TSC security system. Items in this profile must NOT be changed without prior consultation of all other products affected, such as Human Resources and MMS.
Payroll ID
Enter a 4 character payroll ID code. This must be a unique code per payroll, and it is recommended this code name in some way represents the payroll you are adding. For example, 'SUBS' would be a descriptive code for the substitutes payroll. The ID code of 'HRON' has been reserved for use by the system.
Desc
Enter up to 30 characters of a description for the payroll.

Enter 'L' if the payroll you are adding is a live payroll.

Enter 'T' if the payroll you are adding is a test payroll. This field is used by the Payroll system to determine where all payroll interface files will be created. Interface files from Live payrolls are created at the location pointed to by 'SRB$OPSINT' logical. Interface files from Test payrolls will be created at the location pointed to by the 'SRB$OPSWRK' logical.
Payroll Number

Enter a unique two-digit number to identify each payroll.
Currently this Payroll Number is only being used by the BC Pension system to identify payrolls although this number may be used in future development as a means of prioritizing payrolls.
The next 5 prompts require a specific directory value (disk and directory name) You CANNOT use any of the SRB$??????? logicals in this profile setup. You may set up your own logicals but the logicals Must be unique per payroll.
Global Location

Enter the location of the global file directory. This location will be used by all your payrolls and is pointed to by the SRB$HRMGLB logical.
Data 0 Location

Enter the location of the primary Payroll data files for this payroll. This is the location pointed to by the SRB$OPSDAT0 logical for this specific payroll.
Data 1 Location

Enter the location of the GL history data file for this payroll. This is the location pointed to by the SRB$OPSDAT1 logical for this specific payroll.
Work Location

Enter the location of the Payroll work files for this payroll. This is the location pointed to by the SRB$OPSWRK logical for this specific payroll.
Profile Location

Enter the location of the Payroll profiles for this payroll. This is the location pointed to by the SRB$OPSPRO logical for this specific payroll.
