The User Defined Benefits DEFINITION Profile tailors the Employee Benefits Information screen/prompts which allows you to define what benefit information will be accumulated per employee, per payroll. The Benefit Information system can for example, be used for defining employee beneficiary information.
Code
-
Enter a 4-character Code followed by a Prompt description. The Prompt description will display under the employees Benefit Information screen as an input field. These fields allow you to define up to 10 different benefit fields to be stored per employee, per payroll.
A Code of HTT%, where % is any character, means the Prompt will be up to 80 characters long and is used for defining the text of a URL. This feature would be used when your terminal emulator includes the ability to automatically turn URL text (a unique address for a file that is accessible on the internet) into a hyperlink. The URL text defined here will then be displayed under Employee Additions, Changes and Inquiry under the Benefits screen. An additional feature is to define the URL text with %%%%% (5) which means when the text is display under Employee Changes and Employee Inquiry the employee's number is inserted in place of the 5 percent signs. For example, 'http:://blah-blah/empno=%%%%%'.
Desc Deductions
This section is used to define categories of employee benefits to be displayed under the Benefit Information screen. When the deduction code database descriptions are adequately defined, you can tell immediately what level of benefits the employee is set with.
-
Enter a description of the type of deductions to be entered on this line. Under the Deductions, enter one or up to 13 deductions of the type defined by the DESC.
These deduction definitions will display the applicable deduction (and deduction table when applicable) per employee using the Deduction code database description or Deduction Code Table database description when applicable. When the employee's deduction is a Group 3 Type 5 and the F or S salary type is used, the life insurance coverage, previously loaded onto the employee's deduction master, will also display. Employee suspended deductions will be omitted from this display.
