General Ledger Index File Creation

The general ledger index file creation allows you to create an index file to be used by the GL Inquiry Browse module. At least one index file must be created before trying to do a browse.

Create Index File for Year

• Enter the year for which you wish to create an index file.

If the year entered already has an index file, the system will prompt:

The G/L Index File Already Exists for Year ####.

Do You Want to Continue Anyway?

• Click No to exit the program.

• Click Yes to continue to create the index file. (Program will not process the same GL accounts twice.) How many accounts were updated shows at the bottom of the report.

Note: This must be run after making any changes to your GL, including alias changes. Running the GL Index will update FRW and BMW.
