Canvas
This is the workspace where the workflow is visually displayed. Note that the active workflow is displayed. You can add or remove Nodes and Transitions from the canvas, or move them around using drag and drop
Nodes
These are the available actions (the nodes available will be dependent on the product). In this example, for Journal Entry these include:
-
-
Submitted
-
Rejected
-
Posted
-
Approved
To add a node to the workflow simply click and drag and drop onto the canvas
-
Transitions
These are the connectors between the nodes. To add a transition, click Add Transition and you will be prompted to click on the start node, and once you click on the start node you will be prompted to click on the end node. Once this operation is complete a line will appear connecting the two nodes. A dotted transition line between nodes signifies that there is one or more rule that has been defined for the transition.
Zoom
Allows you to zoom the canvas in or out, allowing you to visualize the entire workflow without having to scroll if it is a large and complex design
Version History
Allows you to view historical, active, and potential future workflows. Note that for Journal Entry there are two system defined workflows that you can choose to use as a starting point when creating a new workflow.
Standard
This is essentially a workflow with no routing defined
Standard/Approval
This is a standard workflow that includes the ability to approve, reject and post journal entry batches
