Time Sheet File Purge

The Time Sheet File Purge module purges information no longer required out of the time entry files. The files store all the time entry headers and detail information. They are named PRBT00.DAT and PRBA01.DAT. Any time sheet detail information not needing display or reporting can be purged from the file. The program creates a new file without purged records and deletes the old file. This reorganizes the file and reclaims unused space. The purged records are placed in a file named PRBTØØ.HST and PRBAØ1.HST. We recommend taking a backup of the Payroll directory. At the same time, back up the history files and delete the history files from the system. If you want a permanent record of the records to be purged, we recommend taking on archival backup of the file before the purge.

NOTE: This option is forced to batch and should only be run when users are NOT active in this payroll

Enter the Start Period to be Purged

  • Enter the starting period to be purged from the file.

Enter the End Period to be Purged

  • Enter the last period to be purged. The periods deleted will display.
