The EI History File Compression compresses detail and adjustment EI records generating one compressed record per EI week, thus reducing the size of the EI History File (PRUI01.DAT). The compressed EI information is defined as type 'CM' on the EI Transaction Report. The compressed records are still accessible to All the EI and ROE functions. Additional adjustment records may even to added to a pay period that was previously compressed.
Note: You cannot compress records less than 4 years old.
Note: This option is forced to batch and should only be run when users are NOT active in this payroll - on the weekends or after 7 p.m. on Fridays.
