Annual Entitlements from Storage Banks

Completed

Annual entitlements from storage banks

What we’re doing:

We’ve added two new leave entitlement options:

  1. A year limit from a storage bank

  2. A year limit from a storage bank where any time entered is a day

Why we think you’ll like it:

Many districts have collective agreements where some leave entitlements are provided as a specified number of days out of a specified bank. For example, a family illness entitlement may be 5 days from the employee’s sick bank.

These new entitlements can now check that the employee has enough days in the bank plus check an annual limit taken for that leave reason. For example, if John Smith has 10 days in his sick leave bank, he can take 5 of those days for family illness. If he has already taken 5 days for family illness, the system will block/warn him because he’s already exceeded his limit even if his bank is not empty. Vice versa, if he has only 2 days left in his sick bank, but only taken 1 family illness day, he will be blocked/warned because he does not have time left in his bank.

These new entitlements can be set up on the applicable leave code entitlement tab.

Entitlement Policy 6: Year Limit from Storage Banks (allows for partial absence days)

Entitlement Policy 7: Year Limit from Storage Banks - Any Time Is Always a Day (any time entered is deducted as a day). Refer to the “A Day is a Day” Absence Entitlement & Storage Bank Deduction feature sheet for more information on deducting any absence time as a day.
