Setting up Preparation Time
With the Work Assignment submission, the K12 Teaching Time allotments can automatically include some preparation time. In other words, the process would auto-create the K12 Teaching code 02 with the prep time. Preparation time must be set up on location codes.

HR Setup & Maintenance > Profiles > Screen Control Profile > Changes > Screen Code: Location Database Screen.

Setting Prep Time on the Location Code
If you set up by location, you can do it so that at an elementary location you have 17.5% of a teacher’s time spent on preparation, while at a high school, a teacher may be given 19% of their time on preparation. To do this, on the location code, the system will use the User Defined field to track the amount of prep time designated at that location. Enter Prep Time in decimals (e.g. 12% = 0.12). The system will convert numbers over 1 to decimals (e.g. if user enters 12 here, the system will automatically use .12 as prep time).
