The Employee Termination Screen is used to terminate employees. Through this screen you can enter the date the employee is to be terminated along with the reason for termination. You can also close any of the employees assignments and change the employee's status. The employee's status can either be changed immediately or in the future (normally the day after their employment ends).
The screen will warn you of pending actions which may change the employee status or termination information sometime in the future. These types of actions could potentially override what you are currently doing. Any existing pending change of status actions will be deleted when you accept the termination to eliminate any possible status conflicts. If there are pending termination actions (TERM EMP1, 2, 3 or 4) you will have deal manually through deletions.
Employee
Enter the number of the employee to terminate. Search to search by last name.
Termination Date
Enter the date the employee will be terminated as (YY)YYMMDD. This field is mandatory.
Termination Reason
Enter the reason for termination. Search to select from a list of valid termination reason codes. This field is mandatory.
Termination Status
Enter the status code for terminated employees. Search to select from a list of valid employee status codes. This field is mandatory.
Date to Change Status
Enter the date the change of employee status is to take place. If the date entered is on or before the current date, the employee status change will happen as soon as you accept the termination. If you enter a date after the current date, the employee status will not be changed until the morning of the date entered.
The termination date and reason will updated immediately regardless of what the status change date is.
Once the termination information has been entered, a window displaying all the employee's assignments display. If there are no assignments, a window will pop up telling you that the employee has no assignments.
Once this screen appears, click within the fields. Enter the ending date where needed.
