The Employee Demographics Menu gives you access to the main employee maintenance modules plus a few reports. Through this menu, employee information can be added, changed, deleted, and inquired upon. Employee Additions is the screen through which you enter new employees into the system. Employee Changes lets you change the basic employee information. Employee Deletions is the screen through which employees and all their corresponding information are purged from the system.
Basic employee demographic information includes: employee name and number, SIN, preferred first name, salutation, employee status, employee category, street address, city, province, country, two telephone numbers, birth date, gender (sex), identified gender, marital status and contractual FTE/hours. Additional demographic fields include: previous name, bargaining unit, department, location, position, hire date, continuing hire date, substitute/casual hire date, contract acceptance date, last transfer date, TQS date and category, and hire type. Also, travel allowance, department head, primary language, disability code, ethnic code, citizenship, substitute/casual eligibility, and school term.
While we have done our best to include most demographic fields that you would want to maintain information on, we anticipate that there is or will be information you will want to maintain, but does not exist on this or other screens. If this is the case, you can create your own 'user defined demographic fields', to track this information. Any user defined demographic field that you create will appear on the third screen of the Employee Demographics Screen. For more information on user defined demographic fields, refer to the documentation under the heading User Defined Demographic Menu.
