Manitoba TRAF Updates

What We’re Doing

We've updated the Manitoba TRAF Pension Generation Report and Manitoba TRAF Pension Report to ensure that compliance extra time earnings are reported based on the date the work was performed (timesheet date) rather than the pay period in which the earnings were paid.

When a pay code is configured as Compliance Extra Time in the TRAF Profile, the report will now use the month and year from the timesheet entry date when determining the reporting period.

Why we think you'll like it

  • Improved TRAF compliance by reporting compliance extra time in the correct reporting month and year.

  • More accurate pension reporting when timesheet entries are submitted after the original pay period.

  • Reduces manual adjustments required to correct reporting periods.

  • Ensures earnings are associated with the month and year worked, rather than the month and year paid.

This change applies only to pay codes configured as Compliance Extra Time in the TRAF Profile.

For these transactions:

  • The report now determines the reporting month and year using the timesheet entry date.

  • The pay period or payment date is no longer used to determine the reporting month and year.

  • Late-entered compliance extra time will be reported against the employee's original month and year worked.

Example

  • Timesheet date: April 5

  • Entry submitted and paid in: May payroll

Previous behaviour: Reported in May because the earning was paid in the May pay period.

New behaviour: Reported in April because the work was performed on April 5.

No additional setup is required if your compliance extra time pay codes are already defined in the TRAF Profile.
