Ontario Teachers Pension Merge Process

The Ontario Teachers Pension Plan (OTPP) Merge Process allows you to merge the OTPP results from multiple payrolls into one submission file. This merge process maintains the header and trailers of each merged set of payroll records.

This Ontario Teachers Pension Merge generates a unique pension file named based on the primary pension deduction code and the pay period based on the first payroll ID defined. The combined pension extract file for submission to the Ontario Pension board SRB$OPSWRK:TPP_MRG##.yyp, where ## is the primary pension deduction and yyp is the pay period.

This option includes an excel export option for information purposes only.  These excel output contains all of pension information included on the pension extract record in a comma delimited format.  This .CSV files should not be used for submission to the pension board. See below the reporting details for CSV contents.

Sort By Employee Name, Employee Number Or Sin 

Enter 'N' to produce the report in employee name sequence.

Enter 'E' to produce the report in employee number sequence.

Enter ‘S’ to produce the report in employee SIN sequence.

OTPP Payroll Merge Selection

Enter one or multiple payroll ID's along with the ending pay period used during pension report creation, the Pay Date and primary pension deduction code. The process will validate that a pension file by the name of PENS##.ypp, ## pension deduction and ypp for ending period does exists per payroll to be merged.

 

The report lists the following:

Employee number and Last Name

Employee OCT Number

Employees FTE for contractual or Credit Hours for hourly paid

Hours per day for hourly paid

Employee type code

Union affiliation code and short description of union

Employee’s % Rate Of Pay, 100% of current base salary.

CPP Liable flag

TPP Contribution flag

Employee’s Salary paid

Employee’s retro salary, when applicable

Employee’s pension contribution amount

Employee’s Service Credits for pay period range

Totals per payroll merged as well as grand total for all merged data.
