BCPSEA Casual and TTOC Setup

This configuration outlines setup required if you have employees who work as a Casual and a TTOC.

BCPSEA General Profile

The field "PRM User-Defined field for union code" was originally designed for Casuals AND TTOCs. This field has now been changed to "PRM User-Defined field for TTOC union code". A second field has now been added - "PRM User-Defined field for Casual union code".

If your District does NOT have employees that work casual as well as TTOC, simply list the same field in both of these prompts – there is no need to create a second User Defined Field.

If your District DOES have employees that work casual as well as TTOC, you will need to create another User Defined field in HR for your Casuals. Once that is done, this field will need to be filled in through Employee Demographic Changes (in HR) for your casuals – move their union code value to the new field and remove it from the original one.

Add the Default payroll ID for the Casuals. This field is found in the bottom third of the General Profile. Please add the appropriate Casual Payroll ID for your District.

To create a new user-defined demographics field in HR

  1. Go to the User Defined Demo Screen Menu Inquiry and look at the settings on the BCPSEA Union Code field that is there. Your new field will have the same setup parameters, the biggest differences will be which union codes are listed in the Field Database (only need to list the Casual Union Codes) and the position on the screen.

  2. Create a new User Defined Demo Screen Field for the Casuals. Note the field number as it will need to be added to the General Profile.

NOTE - This only needs to be done if an employee is doing TTOC and casual work. If you do not have employees that do this, simply list the same User Defined Field number for both fields in the General Profile.
