TOC Seniority Menu

The TOC Seniority Menu displays and gives you access to all the modules that create, maintain and report on TOC (Teacher On Call) seniority. There is also an option that will calculate and update teaching seniority for you.

These modules were written specifically for one school district, but can be used by others if your TOC and/or Teaching seniority requirements are the same.

The Additions, Changes, Deletions and Inquiry options let you manually add, change, delete or inquire on TOC Seniority records. The TOC Seniority Report reports on all TOC records in the system.

The TOC Seniority Calculation Process will calculate a TOC's seniority which is determined by how many days they have worked in a long-term assignment as a TOC. A long-term assignment is an assignment where the TOC replaces the same employee for a certain number of consecutive days. These modules were set up to work with a default consecutive day count value of four days. This default can be overridden however. If a TOC has worked in a long-term assignment for 10 days in a given date range, then their TOC seniority for that time period would be 10.

The Teacher Seniority Date Calculator will use the TOC seniority to determine a teacher's seniority date. The seniority date starts as the date that the employee accepts his first non-TOC assignment and then is backdated 1 working day for each day of TOC Seniority the TOC has. For example, if the TOC's contract date is Tuesday March 5th, 2002 and he has 1 day of TOC Seniority, the calculated seniority date would end up being Monday March 4th, 2002.
