The Critical Date Additions screen lets you add employee critical date information. Information you can maintain includes: employee, reason code, date, interval code, and next date.
An employee may have multiple critical date records. A short free form comment field has been included to allow for unique or unusual circumstances. The creation of the next date is done using an interval code. The interval code is a database item which represents a fixed interval of time, e.g., 2 weeks. The amount of time represented by the interval code is added to the present date to determine the next date. The next date can be changed if required. The interval and next date fields are bypassed if the critical date reason does not reoccur.
Employee
Enter the number of the employee this date relates to
Reason Code
Enter the Reason Code from the Reason Code Database. Search for valid reason codes. During all phases other than Additions the system displays a list of all entries for the employee entered. This lookup table appears automatically after the entry of the employee number.
Date
Enter the date as 'YYMMDD' or 'YYYYMMDD' this Critical Event occurs.
Interval Code
Enter the interval at which this Critical event re-occurs. Access to this field is only granted if the Reason Code is flagged as reoccurring. Search for valid Interval Codes.
Next Date
This date is set to the date entered in field 03 plus the amount of time represented by the Interval Code. For example if you entered the 1st of Jan in field 03 and an Interval Code which represented 90 days in field 04, the default date would be the 30th of March. This date can be overridden. This date is used by the Critical Date Update process to create new records for employees with re-occurring critical dates.
