BCPSEA Extract to Batch
Completed
BCPSEA to Batch
What we’re doing:
The BCPSEA EDAS Extract no longer runs live on the user’s screen. Instead, it now runs as a background batch job, similar to the behavior of the new Report Writer. This means users are free to continue their work without needing to keep the extract page open.
We’ve also introduced a targeted enhancement to this extract to help it run more reliably and reduce the likelihood of timeouts.
Finally, with the included Vortex upgrade in this release, you should see significant overall performance improvements.
Why we think you’ll like it:
No more locked screens
Users are no longer required to leave the extract open while the process runs.Automatic notifications
Users are alerted when the extract completes, making it easy to pick up results when ready.Access to Running/Processed Jobs
Users can view the status of their jobs anytime from a central page.Historical extract access
Previously processed extracts can be revisited.
(Note: The final extract CSV always reflects data generated from the most recent extract, including any manual deletions or edits.)Runs more smoothly, quickly, reduced chance of timeouts.
Learn more:
1. Submitting the Extract
After running the extract:
The user is taken to a confirmation page indicating the batch job was submitted successfully.
From there, the user can:
Navigate away and continue other work, or
Select View Running/Processed Jobs to monitor progress.
2. Finding Running/Processed Jobs
Users can also access Running/Processed Jobs at any time via Running/Processed Jobs menu.
3. Getting the Results
When the extract completes:
A notification is sent to the user with a direct link to the extract results.
Results can also be accessed through:
Payroll → Reporting → BCPSEA Extracts → Running/Processed Jobs
Payroll → Reporting → BCPSEA Extracts → Extract Results
4. Menu Configuration Requirement
Access to the Running/Processed Jobs page must be granted in Menu Builder.
5. Profile Adjustment - Absences from Warehouse
With these updates, you may no longer need to extract absence data from the warehouse. That step was originally added to help with performance, but it shouldn’t be necessary anymore.
To adjust the setting, go to:
Payroll → Reporting → BCPSEA Profiles → General Profile
Locate the profile named “Use Warehouse to retrieve absence values (Y/N)” and set it to blank or N.
