Routing Code Additions

In this area you will be adding Routing Codes to ensure that your Workflows that have been setup go to the correct Routing Authorizers.

E-Form Type Selection Screen

Select the e-form you want to work with. Here you will have various options ranging from Leave Management Web to Staffing Requisition. Select the e-form that is applicable to what you are working on and click Continue e.g. Update Address would be Employee Forms.

Routing Code

Create a Routing Code in this field. It has a maximum of 10 characters. Good examples for Routing Codes are Update, NewHire, Rehire, Approve and SupToHR. It should be as descriptive as possible as to what will happen in the routing for this code.

Description

Add a description for the Routing Code that you have just created.

Status

Select the status of Active or Inactive for the Routing Code.

Routing Code Table

Line

Select the line that you want to modify or start with. This would typically be Line 1 in Additions.

Authorization Code

Click the lookup icon to find the Routing Authorizer Code that the routing should start with.

Section Name

Click the lookup icon to find the Section that will be sent to the Routing Authorizer e.g. Approval Section.

Type

Click the lookup icon to find the method in which you want the task to appear to the Routing Authorizer.

  • Task Only will display in the Task Manager for the Routing Authorizer and will only contain the section specified in Section Name.

  • Email Only will only send a notification e-mail to the Routing Authorizer and no action will be required.

  • Email All will send all prior sections in the Routing Code to the Routing Authorizer via e-mail.

  • Email One will send only the specified section in Section Name to this Routing Authorizer.

  • Both will send a notification e-mail to the Routing Authorizer as well as a Task Action to be completed.

  • Action will automatically complete the routing on behalf of the Routing Authorizer.

Make Wait

Click the lookup icon to find the method in which you will want the task to be handled by the Routing Code.

  • Wait means it will wait until this task is completed before proceeding with the next line.

  • Don't Wait means it will process the next line regardless of whether this line's task is completed or not.

  • Wait All means the routing will not be completed until all Routing Authorizers have completed their tasks.

  • Wait Any means the routing will complete if any of the Routing Authorizers have completed their task.

  • Wait All N means the routing will proceed to the next line without waiting but it will still require all Routing Authorizers to complete their tasks before the routing is complete.

  • Wait Any N means the routing will proceed to the next line without waiting and it will complete routing if any Routing Authorizer completes their task.

Please note that there can be a mix of all these options above. You can have a few lines that require Wait All and then a line after that which has Wait and in this way you can control the flow of the routing.

Conditional Routing

This is where you will define the conditions that have to be met for the Routing to go to the Routing Authorizer.

  • Field: Select the field that you want to use e.g. Leave Location

  • Operator: There are many operators that will define how you want to evaluated the Field you have selected. Select the one that is most applicable to your field.

  • Literal Text: Type in the text that you want evaluated.

  • Conjunction: Select AND/OR here. If you have multiple fields in Conditional Routing, it is important to choose whether all conditions have to be met or just one to go with this Routing Authorizer.

Here is an example of what Conditional Routing could look like.

  • Field: Leave Location

  • Operator: Equal To

  • Literal Text: 1000

  • This means that if the Leave Location is Equal To 1000, it will return this Condition as being true and the Routing Authorizer will receive this routing. If the Condition is not met, it will skip this Routing Authorizer.
