What we’re doing:

Provide greater functionality for the definition of rules in the journal entry approval system, to control who will be able to Approve and/or Post

Why we think you’ll like it:

With this enhancement you will have greater control over the different approval paths required for your journal entry processing. Multiple paths are supported, with the ability to create and immediately post, or to have created and submitted entries flow through a one or two step approval routing workflow.

Rules can be created to route journal entries for approval based on the following new criteria:

  • the employee who created the journal entry

  • the employee logged in to the system

  • the originating role of the user creating the journal entry

  • the role of the logged in employee

To modify the rules associated to your Journal Entry Workflow, navigate to Tools > System Tools > Workflows Builder

  • Edit the Journal Entry Workflow

  • Select the transition that you want to update

  • Click on the Rules tab

  • Add the Rule, and when complete click Done

  • Save or Save and Publish the workflow when you are ready to make it the active workflow
