Applying Open Credits

Apply Open Credits

The Cash Receipt Entry module also allows you to process Open Credits for a specific customer.

  1. Create a batch in cash receipt entry.
  2. Enter all information as you normally would for a cash receipt.
  3. At the cash tendered field, enter the letters 'OC' or use the look up . This will trigger the system to pull up a window with all open credits for that customer.
  4. Move your cursor down to the open credit and press Select button select it or Deselect to un select the open credit. 
  5. Distribute until cash amount is zero, then click Save.
    Choose if you want to print a receipt or not.
    On the Batch Balance Report, the amount will show up under cash but no GL accounts will be affected. The source code will be OC for Open Credit.
    Finalize Batch

Note: Apply open credits in a separate batch, do not include them in with your regular cash receipt batches.
