Seniority Days To Date Conversion

The Seniority Days To Date Conversion will convert the number of seniority days an employee has into a date then update the first user defined demographic field with that date.

This program assumes there is only one seniority code in existence and as a result picks up the number of seniority days from the first seniority record an employee has. This program converts the seniority days to a date by starting from the input closing date and counting backwards through the calendar. The program will skip Saturdays and Sundays and assume that the closing date is day one.

This program lets you select employees by employee category and posting number. There is a preliminary/final prompt so you have the option of viewing the report previous to updating the seniority date (first user defined field).

Closing Date

  • Enter the date (YYYYMMDD or YYMMDD) you want the program to begin counting days.

Employee Category Codes

Posting Number

  • To select only employees that applied for a particular posting, enter that posting number. Search for valid posting numbers. Leave blank to select employees regardless of posting number.

Seniority Days

  • Enter a range of working days. Only employees with seniority days within the specified range will be processed/reported.

Preliminary/Final Run

  • Enter 'P' to run this program in preliminary mode or 'F' for final. A preliminary run will create a report showing the seniority days and date without updating the first user defined demographics field.
