Screen Visitation

The Screen Visitation Menu gives you access to the modules that maintain and manage the screen visitation definitions.

The options under this menu allow you to customize which screens are visited from other screens in the system. The screens visited can be unique for different groups of employees based on employee category. This is to say that you can visit one set of screens from a module for a teacher and another set of screens for an applicant.

The screens you enter will be visited in the sequence they appear on the screen starting from the module you specify as root module. After the root module has been visited, the system will look for the set of screens based on the employee's category. As each screen is visited, the employee number originally entered will be carried forward automatically so that you do not need to re-enter it.

Each screen you list to be visited can be marked as optional or mandatory. If you mark a screen as optional, you will be asked if you want to visit the specified screen before you are taken there. If the screen is not marked as being optional, you will be taken immediately there after the current screen has been completed.

Screen Visitation Additions

  • The Screen Visitation Additions module lets you add screen visitation definitions.

Module (Program)

  • Enter the module code that you want to visit other screens from. Search to view valid module (program) codes. Leave field blank and press enter to exit this module.

Employee Category

  • Enter the employee category code for which you want to define a set of screens to be visited. Search to view valid employee category codes. By entering the key word '*DEF' you can define a default set of screens to visit. These screens will be accessed for all undefined employee categories. Say for example that you specify certain screens for the category 'TEAC' and certain screens for '*DEF' (the default category key word). When you visit this screen and access an employee with a category of 'SUBS', because you have not defined a category of 'SUBS' for this module, the default (*DEF) set of screens will be used.

Code

  • Enter the Hyperspace code of the screen you want to visit. Search to view valid codes. It is important that you enter the codes in the order you wish to visit the specified screens and the system will read down the list you define in the order the appear on this screen.

Optional

  • Enter 'Y' to indicate that the specified screen should be visited optionally.

  • Enter 'N' to indicate that the specified screen must be visited.

Screen Report

  • The Screen Report lists the screen visitations that have been set up for any module. The report will display the employee category, the screens to be visited, and whether the screen visitations are optional.

Sort Order

  • Enter 'M' or enter to sort the report in module name order.

  • Enter 'C' to sort the report in employee category order.
