Employee Pin Database Additions
The Employee Pin Database Additions module allows you to add the needed PIN record for employees to access Automated Dispatch from a touch tone telephone. Each record simply contains the employee PIN (Personal Identification Number) and Automated Dispatch security code. Each time an employee accesses Automated Dispatch from a phone, they will be prompted for their employee number and PIN. This database will be checked to verify that the information entered is correct. If the employee number and pin is valid, the system will give them access to the various options according to the security code found on this record.
If the employee being entered is an administrator, you can also specify what location(s) they can access. This information is accessed when an administrator goes into the Inquiry By Location to make sure that they can only inquire on their school(s). Additionally, the system can be configured so that when an administrator performs a transaction on behalf of another employee, the system will ensure that the employee selected actually works at the school(s) accessible by the administrator. Whether these location security features are activated and how they work is controlled by a field called Activate Admin Location Security in the Automated Dispatch Absence Parameter Profile.
While you could add a security record for each employee, we recommend you do this globally for an entire group of employees by running the Automated Dispatch Employee Pin Load Process.
