ADS Search Log Purge (Create New and Much Smaller File)
The ADS Search Log Purge program will purge out the Automated Dispatch Search Log File with all information prior to a certain date. This should be done ever few years to prevent the Automated Dispatch search log file from growing too large. You probably want to keep at least two years of data in this file in case you are questioned about why the system called who it did.
As the below screen indicates, you must make a backup of the SRB$HRDAT0:HRDLØ1.DAT file before running this program. This is so that you can restore the file to its original state in the event of an abnormal completion. You must also shut down the Automated Dispatch Alpha Server.
Retain Records Dated After
Enter a date as (YY)YYMMDD. All records with a timestamp prior to this date will be deleted from the file.
Perform File Reorg
Enter 'Y' to reorganize and optimize the unavailability file after completing the purge.
Enter 'N' to bypass the reorganization.
Minimum Disk Space
This is the minimum amount of disk space that must be available for the reorganization to occur. If the entered minimum space does not exist on the disk, the program will abort after the purge without optimizing the file. The reorganization requires about 1½ times the original size of the file to work.
Alternate Disk
This is the alternate disk to perform the reorganization in the event there is not enough space on the device where the file is located.
