Absence System Menu

The Absence System Menu in HR is both comprehensive and versatile. All types of absences, short-term leaves, long-term leaves, and vacations can be entered and tracked through it. Every absence entered into the absence system is checked to ensure that there is no conflicting absence for the same employee with overlapping times. Each absence entered can optionally check the leave management system to check whether an approved leave application exists for the employee during the specified dates. Each absence can also optionally be checked against the entitlement system to make sure the employee has not exceeded the number of days he/she is entitled to for the specified absence type.

The Absence System utilizes employee assignments and schedules (if they exist) so that absence entry can be as quick and efficient as possible. Prompts for absent location, position, start time and end times will be skipped if an employee has an assignment during the date and times booked. The statutory holiday calendar, district and school professional day calendars, and teaching calendar will be referenced so that only applicable days will be booked as absences.

All absence entries can also be interfaced directly into our payroll system so that these entries do not need to be re-keyed. Future absences, leaves, or vacation days can be booked but only interfaced when they have actually happened.

As with the rest of the sub systems within HR, there are several database codes that must be set up prior to using the absence system. They are listed below.
