Dashboard-Specific Information
There is a field in the Task Table called TASK_TYPE_LINK, which allows a Pending Task widget to be created and placed on a dashboard. Clicking on the Task Type link will open up the Task Manager showing just the selected Task Types.
Note that this widget can be applied to any Task in any product, but the report must be created in the HRW Report Writer.
The Dashboard Table is available to help those responsible for the creation of Dashboards and Security Builder. Note that this is a global data report but it must be created in the HRW Report Writer.
An option is available that allows reports to be placed onto dashboards, restricting the viewer to see data at his or her security location(s). Add Location_Code to the Selection Fields. Then, on the Selection page, add *Security_Location* or *Security_Locations*:
Security_Location will prompt the user (regardless if this field is set to prompt at run time) to select one of his or her security locations.
Security_Locations will display data on all security locations for the user.
This is useful for reports for managers and principals.
Another option is available that allows reports to be placed onto an employee dashboard, while restricting each employee to seeing only their own data.
Choose SECURITY_EMPLOYEE_NO as a SELECTION FIELD from the Name_and_Sin table and add *SECURITY_EMPLOYEE* as shown below.
The report in the example only has employee name as a display field. By using the Security_Employee_No as a selection field, the report only displays the name of the user logged in. Otherwise, the report would display names of all employees.
This is useful for dashboard to show individual employees their own data securely.
